A red hat with a self-fabric bow. The hat has a flat oval crown. The brim is asymmetrical, it is wider at the front and narrower at the sides and the back. A self-fabric bow is sewn to the back of the hat at the bottom of the crown. Black threads are stitched throughout the proper right side and the front of the crown. The edge of the brim is folded inwards and continues to cover the under brim. A metal wire is placed on the edge of the brim which is encased in fabric. A one-and three-quarter inch synthetic petersham ribbon is sewn to the bottom of the crown at the interior. The hat is lined with black synthetic net, black synthetic buckram is placed between the net and red exterior fabric. A thin black elastic band is channeled through the sides of the hat along the petersham ribbon. The edges of the elastic band are finished with a metal aglet. A woven fabric label is sewn to the center back interior along the petersham ribbon. The label reads [ORIGINAL / Frances Adams / FIFTH AVE. N.Y.]. The text [AMERICAN DESIGN] is on the left side of the label written vertically going upwards. A manufacturing union label folded in half and attached to the bottom of the designer label. The front of the label reads [NEW YORK / Creation / 22 1/2].
