White, brown, and tan striped tie worn by Melvin Van Peebles

A white, brown, and tan striped tie worn by Melvin Van Peebles. The tie features gold, black, tan, and white diagonal stripes of various widths and is made from one panel of fabric. In between some of the stripes, are shaded areas of brown and tan stippling and the designer’s initials [OC] are printed irregularly throughout. The tie is seamed vertically at the center back and near the wider end of the tie, stitched over the vertical seam is a black rectangular fabric label that reads [OLEG CASSINI / BY BURMA] in gold embroidered text. The text is enclosed in a gold, embroidered rectangle. Towards the upper end of the tie, is a white paper tag that reads [WPL 13185 / POLYESTER / $12.50] in black text. The inside of the tie is lined with a burnt sienna polyester fabric that reads [OLEG CASSISNI] in a repeat pattern along with a shield symbol.
