A cream hat with a wide brim and red fabric flowers. The hat has a short round crown and is made of cream synthetic faille. Plastic stems are wrapped around and adhered to the side of the crown. Two red flowers and a bud are adhered to the top of the brim. The flower bud is made of synthetic fabric, the petals are made of synthetic velveteen, and paper is adhered to the top of the flowers on the brim. The flowers and the bud have stems that are made of paper. Green synthetic leaves with a plastic coating are attached to the stems on the top of the brim. Metal wire is adhered to the center of each leaf. Two bands of synthetic velveteen are sewn along the edge of the brim. One layer of folded synthetic horsehair net is placed between the two bands of synthetic velveteen. The underside of the brim is made of synthetic faille. Two plastic green stems with green synthetic fabric flowers with a plastic coating are sewn along the underside of the brim. One of the stems has a red bud and the stem has two red synthetic petals. Nonwoven interfacing is placed between the top and underside of the synthetic faille on the brim. A cream synthetic petersham ribbon is adhered to the inner circumference of the base of the crown. White synthetic lace with scalloped edges is handsewn to the top edge of the petersam ribbon. The crown is self lined. Buckram is placed at the crown between the lining and exterior fabric. A woven fabric label is adhered to the center back interior of the hat along the petersham ribbon. The label reads [Frances / INC. / 3661 Georgia Ave. N.W. / Washington, D.C.].
