Navy Good Conduct Medal awarded to Ck2c George Francis Bland. The medal is comprised of a bronze medallion suspended from a short, solid magenta medal ribbon. On the obverse of the circular medallion is an embossed three masted frigate, the USS Constitution, at the center with the text [CONSTITUTION] embossed below. The ship and text are encircled with an embossed rope band. The outer edges of the medallion features a circular band of embossed chain that attaches at the top to an anchor that is partially visible above and below the USS Constitution design. Between the chain and rope bands are three embossed words on the left, right, and bottom that read, [UNITED], [STATES], and [NAVY]. The word [NAVY] overlays the center bottom of the anchor. On the reverse of the medal are three embossed words on the left, right, and bottom edges that read, [FIDELITY], [OBEDIENCE], and [? ZEAL ?] respectively. The center of the reverse is otherwise blank. The medallion is suspended from a bronze jump ring threaded through the medallion’s bail at the top center. The jump ring is also threaded though the triangular folded point at the bottom of the short ribbon. On the back of the short ribbon, at the top, is a bronze brooch bar attached to the back of the ribbon. The bar is missing its pin. Stamped on the solid bar is a diamond shaped stamp next to stamped text that reads [G1] at the center.
