A Philippine Liberation Medal awarded to Ck2c George Francis Bland. The medal is comprised of a gold tone medallion suspended from a short medal ribbon. The obverse of the medallion is shaped to resemble a pair of golden wings framing a red, white, and blue enameled shield with the edges bordered in gold. At the top of the shield is a white enameled chevron with the three, gold, five-pointed stars above gold arch-shaped banner below with embossed text that reads [LIBERTY]. The body of the shield is divided into three vertical sections enameled blue, white, and red from left to right. The sections are divided with gold wavy lines. In the white center section is a Tabak short sword, in gold with the blade facing up. The base of the shield is white. The reverse is plain with embossed text that reads [FOR THE / LIBERATION / OF THE PHILIPPINES] at the top center. At the bottom is a circular hallmark with embossed letters [Tu] inside. The medallion is suspended from a gold tone jump ring threaded through the bail at the top center. The jump ring is also threaded though the triangular folded point at the bottom of the short ribbon. The ribbon is a field of red with a set of thin blue and white stripes at the center. Attached to the top back of the ribbon is the medal’s brooch bar with a safety pin clasp. The bar is missing its pin.
