A coral collared dress with embellishments and a detachable train. The dress (a) is made of synthetic heat press faille, it has a V neckline with a self-fabric collar. The collar opens on the proper left side with five metal snaps and a metal hook and eye sewn at the interior of the collar and the dress. The long sleeves are gathered at the bottom and end in a self-fabric upturned cuff. A slit is set along the side seam of each sleeve, the slits close with a metal snap at the cuff. The back of the upturned cuffs is faced with coal synthetic. The collar and cuffs are heavily embellished with glass bugle beads, seed beads, white bugle beads, glass rhinestones in metal settings, and iridescent glass beads in a wave pattern. A horizontal bust dart is sewn at each side with a small triangle panel sewn on each side at the bustline. The front of the dress is made of a bias cut panel that curves under the bustline with its apex at the center of the V neckline. The embellished collar continues along the back of the neckline. The back of the dress is cut on the bias, it has a low open back with a center back seam. A fourteen-inch metal zipper is sewn along the center back seam, the pull on the zipper reads [CROWN]. The zipper is only partially sewn to the dress with the lower half still detached. Two darts are sewn on each side of the center back zipper which start at the low back. Two metal eyes are sewn along the proper left side of the low back opening. An eleven-inch slit is sewn along the center back seam. A triangular panel is sewn on each side of the center back slit. The dress is lined with coral synthetic. Interfacing is sewn between the lining and exterior fabric at the collar. Eight pieces of metal boning encased in coral synthetic are sewn at the interior. Four pieces of boning are sewn on the front of the dress and four are at the back. A white elastic band is hand sewn along the edge of the low back opening. The interior seams are machine sewn and the raw edges are finished with hand stitching. A woven fabric label is handsewn to the proper left side of the center back zipper at the interior. The label reads [Mme Berthé / 1639 BRODWAY – NEW YORK]. The train (b) is made of the same fabric of the dress, it is attached to the dress at the low back opening with two metal hooks, one on the proper left side and one at the center, these align with metal eyes on the dress. Two lengths of glass rhinestone trim with metal settings are sewn to the top of the train in the orientation of a chain. It is lined with coal synthetic fabric. The train is machine sewn except for the trim.
