A black tailcoat by Carl Davis. The coat features a single notched collar with a satin lapel. There is a welted breast pocket on the proper right side lined with black cotton. Three decorate metal buttons are hand sewn on each side of the front opening. Each metal button measures about .75” in diameter and is covered in black silk satin.There are two vertical darts, one on each side that of the jacket opening, measuring about 4.5”. The jacket features set-in sleeves made from two panels of black wool twill that is seamed to itself at the inner and outer arm and three decorative metal buttons covered in black silk satin are handsewn to each sleeve end. The back of the jacket is made from four panels of fabric all machine-sewn together. Two metal covered buttons in black silk satin are sewn to mid back and below the buttons is a 18” long vent that separates the two tails.
