Vassily Kandinsky's woodcut is one of 12 prints: 4 woodcuts (2 in color); 4 drypoints and 4 color lithographs from his Small Worlds (Kleine Welten) portfolio, published in 1922. Each of the prints was signed by the artist, individually matted and placed in a yellow portfolio embossed with an abstract design; it was placed in a cardboard box bearing a paper label.
