Painted canvas fragment

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and no visible ground layer. Dark red paint, with matte and glossy areas, is applied directly to the raw canvas. The fragment is cut diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. Fibers are adhered to glossy areas.
