A cream silk skirt with floral embroidery and scalloped tiers. The skirt has a one and a quarter inch wide waistband which is machine sewn to the top of the shirt. The skirt is gathered below the waistband. It has three self-fabric tiers with floral embroidery and scalloped edges. Above each tier floral embroidery about two inches wide runs horizontally across the skirt. A side seam pocket is sewn along the proper right side seam which is hidden by the top tier of the skirt. A cream synthetic panel is sewn on each side of the center back of the waistband, this is a later addition. A white shell button is sewn to the proper left side of the waistband which aligns with a button whole on the other side. A nine and a quarter inch long placket is on the center back of the skirt. The placket continues into a center back seam. An inch and a half wide self-fabric band is sewn to the bottom of the skirt. A five-and-a-half-inch wide cotton band is machine sewn to the hem at the interior. The skirt is handsewn except for the waistband, the self-fabric band at the hem, and the cotton facing at the interior along the hem. The machine sewn elements were later additions.
