A short sleeve purple knit dress. The dress is made of lightweight wool knit jersey and has short sleeves with an A-line silhouette. There is self-fabric piping around the neckline and waistline seam. There are no armscye seams; the sleeves are cut into the bodice panels. There is a vertical bust dart extending up from the waistline on each side of the bust. Two decorative self-fabric swirl details are sewn along the center front of the waistline seam. They are made of two thin tubes of the wool jersey that have been tightly rolled into two adjoining swirls. The skirt is gathered along the waistline seam. A twenty-one-inch zipper is sewn along the center back of the dress, the zipper has plastic teeth and a metal pull. The zipper leads into a center back seam. There are two pairs of metal hooks and eyes sewn along the zipper. One set is at the top of the zipper at the center back of the neckline. The other set is at the waistline to conceal the zipper. A vertical back dart is sewn on each side of the center back zipper, ending at the waist seam. The dress has a three-and-a-half-inch single fold hem. Purple seam binding tape is used along the interior waist seam, along the hem on the interior side of the skirt, and on the sleeve ends. The tape is secured with hand herringbone stitches along the skirt hem and hand slip stitching along the sleeve ends. The dress is fully lined with light purple synthetic. The neckline is self-faced. The facing around the neckline is lined with cream synthetic.
