A white tailcoat with a satin lapel. The tailcoat is made of a silk polyester blend. It opens in the center front and has a single notched lapel collar made of white silk satin. A pocket is sewn to the proper left side of the center front opening at chest level. Three decorative self-fabric covered metal buttons are sewn to each side of the center front opening. A diagonal dart is sewn to each side of the jacket, starting at the waistline and extending up to chest level. The jacket has long sleeves that taper slightly inwards at the ends. Three self-fabric covered decorative metal buttons are sewn to the bottom of each sleeve along the exterior seam. The jacket has a center back seam and two princess seams that continue down to the hem. A self-fabric covered decorative metal button is sewn along each princess seam at the waistline. The back of the jacket is much longer than the front. The center back seam transitions into a vent which starts at waist level and is twenty inches long. A double welted pocket is sewn to the interior at the proper right side. Panels of white silk satin and synthetic faille are pieced together and used to line the inside of the jacket. Machine quilting stitches are at the back of the collar and the back of the top portion of the lapel. Multiple tacking stitches are placed below the notch on the backside of the lapel. The silk satin is handsewn to the collar. The lining on the tail is hand pieced together, and hand sewn to the exterior fabric. Lambswool padding is placed at the top of the shoulder on the front and back of the jacket between the exterior and lining fabric.
