A bucket-shaped hat covered in red fabric flowers. The understructure of the hat is composed of buckram that has been blocked to shape. The exterior is covered with red cellulose acetate fabric and ten red faux flowers made from velveteen and synthetic plain weave (possibly acetate?) fabric. The flowers are adhered to the hat’s surface in an overlapping arrangement, obscuring the red fabric underneath. Each flower’s petals have been dyed black. The flower pistils are made from painted thread and paper. A wire runs along the bottom edge of the hat and is concealed by a Petersham ribbon that has been folded over and machine stitched into place. The interior of the hat is lined with viscose satin fabric. There is no label.
