He is wearing a suit jacket and two pins, one on his collar and the second on the flap of his jacket. The photograph is on a rectangular mat frame and backing. On the front bottom margin of the photograph appears an illegible inscription. On the back is the sitter’s name handwritten in pencil at the top [P. T. Miller], photographer's botanical-themed logo [C. EPPERT, Photographer, Terre Haute, Ind.]. There are two other inscriptions handwritten in pencil, the first above the logo banner [Gas-illegible] and the second is arithmetic done upside-down.
