Bible stand in Chaplain Kit used by Army Chaplain Louis J. Beasley

A brass bible stand with two foldable support arms. The stand is a simple, unadorned piece of brass with a folded lip at the bottom to prevent materials from sliding off. The support arms connect to the stand on the left and right sides, and each support arm is attached to the body of the stand with two (2) hinges. Each support arm has simple cutout designs on the side. There are two (2) small hooks attached to the back of the stand, one approximately 3/4" from the left support arm and one approximately 3/4" from the right. Attached to each support arm, in between the hinges, is a small foot of brass. Each foot folds down and slides into the hook, which provides further structural support for the stand once it is in use. Etched into the stand's back is, [U. S.].
