The case has a border in a wave design, with faded bits of gold. A hook and circular bolt clasp holds the case together as it is no longer hinged. In the interior of the case, the left side is lined with red velvet with a decorative leaf and scrollwork design. The ambrotype photograph is on the right interior of the case, within a decorative gold metal frame and faded red velvet casing. Both sides of the interior have a border in a wave design with gilt edging. The black and white photograph depicts two men seated next to each other in chairs. Each has their outer leg crossed over their knees and their hands folded in their lap, looking straight at the camera. he man on the left is wearing a bowler hat, turtleneck, and suit. He has a pin on the lapel of his proper right jacket. The man on the right is wearing light pants and a dark jacket with tie.
