Iron shot ball made into shackle

Solid Civil War iron shot ball made into shackle. Surrounding the circular shot ball is an outer layer of iron with lines cut throughout to help it fit tight around the shot, completely covering the back of the shot ball. The outer layer continues past the ball and extends out to connect to a chain link that is broken. The shackle is extremely rusted.
