Starck's reputation and career as an interior and product designer took off in the 1980s. In the United States, his interiors for Ian Schrager's hotels, such as the Royalton in New York City and the Delano in Miami, are well known for their drama and wit, which he has equally applied to everthing from juice squeezers to toothbrushes. With his "Starck Reality" line for Target, the designer's goal was "to make possible the most joyful and exciting things and experiences for the maximum number of people." This playful retro-looking toy car comes complete with cane-shaped pushing rod to keep Mom or Dad from straining their back.
