100th design by Kōkei. Actor Nakamura Senjaku II (b. 1931) as Osome お染 in the play The Love Suicides at Mount Toribe (Toribeyama shinjū 鳥辺山心中), performed at the Kabuki Theater in October of 1987. Osome is a seventeen year old prostitute in Kyoto who falls in love with her first customer, Hankurō. The two will eventually commit suicide at Mount Toribe.
