Comb

Tribes within the Iroquois Confederacy carved effigy combs from wood, bone, and antler. They were worn in the hair and were created for utilitarian and decorative purposes. Images of animals like horses, bears, and birds were often incorporated into this type of comb. This one features two cranes facing each other, probably referring to the owner's clan affiliation.
