Caster

Casters were used in the 17th and 18th centuries for dispensing sugar, mustard, nutmeg, and other spices and condiments. This caster was probably used for sugar, suggested by the large flowerhead piercings in the cover that allowed for relatively large pieces of crushed sugar.
