About
Ceramic inkstones with green glazes have been retrieved from numerous Six Dynasties (220–581) tomb burials. This one is raised on several droplet-shaped legs with incised decor. The deep groove (biyong 辟雍) encircling the round, unglazed grinding surface acts as the inkwell.
