Japanese potter Tsujimura Shiro is known for creating ceramics in a variety of traditional Japanese styles, with his primary focus on tea wares. The tea bowl, or chawan, is one that Shiro has recreated repeatedly throughout his career. Their serendipitous nature makes them interesting to the eye, and gives them an organic feel. With this one, Tsujimura openly celebrates the serendipity of kiln breakage with a platinum repair.
