The drawing at the top depicts Le Trayas, a village on the French riviera between Cannes and St. Raphaël. Cross chose this spot also for the watercolor "Rocks at Trayas" (Musée d'Art et d'Histoire, Saint-Denis, France). In the drawing of Agay, close to the west of Le Trayas, the village's lighthouse can be recognized.
