Painted canvas fragment

Partially painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and no visible ground layer. Dark red paint, with matte and glossy areas and a dry brush edge, is applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. Surface accretions are adhered to the glossy areas.
