This bottle painted with iron-rich pigment beneath celadon glaze was probably produced in Haenam kilns in southern Jella province. The method that paints patterns in iron-oxide pigment is believed to have developed in kilns in China, such as Xicun in Guangzhou, Cizhou and Ding in Hebei province, and Yaozhou in Shaanxi province around the 900s.
