About
Intrigued by the religious images around his neighborhood, Green used his art to imagine a post-apocalyptic time in which survivors treasure relics from the past. Green based the central figure in Death by Suffocation on a photograph published in Time magazine of Robert McNamara, who as secretary of defense was one of the primary architects behind America’s disastrous involvement in the Vietnam conflict.
