Col. Frank L. Smith commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design one of his earliest commercial buildings in order to accommodate both the First National Bank of Dwight (Illinois) and an office for Col. Smith's insurance business. The project is documented from design development through construction with extensive architect/client/contractor correspondence and some architectural drawings.
