Mugi Yamamoto developed this prototype for a lightweight, compact ink-jet printer for his thesis project. With Stack, Yamamoto has rethought the standard design for computer printers, removing the bulky body and tray. Instead, a mechanism on top of a stack of paper slowly moves down as it uses up the pile. Designed to save space as well as to avoid the frequent reloading of paper, Stack is among a new generation of objects designed for the lighter, more mobile work environments of today.
