Sketch for Cover of Emigre, Issue No. 26, “All Fired Up”

Rick Valicenti produced these sketches while developing logo proposals for the cover of Emigre (issue no. 26). Their gestural quality echoes the expressive typefaces designed digitally for the publication, but here Valicenti drew them by hand, suggesting continuity between analog and digital design methods.
