Ōgata Gekkō (Japanese, 1859–1920)

b. 1859 — d. 1920

Ōgata Gekkō distinguished himself as a younger artist in the first exhibition of the Painting Appreciation Society (Kangakai) in 1885. He went on to earn prizes at world’s fairs and expositions in both the United States and Europe.
