Japanese printmaker, 1866-1908 Active in a number of prominent art societies, Mizuno Toshikata was a favored student of Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839–1892), an eminent print artist most famous for his series Hundred Aspects of the Moon. Toshikata was chosen to succeed Yoshitoshi, and also took over his position as illustrator at the newspaper Yamato Shimbun.
