F. Chabrol French, active c. 1840-1860 F. Chabrol was an early portrait daguerreotypist, active in Lyons, who took up photography on paper. His later work, which includes images of Roman ruins in France, captures the 19th-century interest with artifacts from the past. T.W.F.
